- Dermatitis is often associated with impaired skin barrier function, predominantly caused by perturbations of the skin lipids composition, resulting in dryness, itchiness & redness. Ceravis helps restoring the skin protective barrier structure by filling the gap of the skin lipid bilayer in between coenocytes with skin identical phytosphingosine-based ceramides, cholesterol & free fatty acid. Ceravis also contains phytosphingosine acting as precursor to trigger natural formation of human skin ceramide.
- Skin-identical ceramide is important as it can increase the percutaneous absorption of ceramide into the stratum corneum and provide optimal result for skin barrier repair. Study shows non skin-identical ceramide with the wrong stereochemistry destroys the molecular membrane bilayer structure of stratum corneum lipids.
